Parakiore Recreation and Sport Centre

Parakiore is New Zealand's largest aquatic and recreation facility, developed as a landmark community asset for Ōtautahi Christchurch. Located in central Christchurch, the 32,000m² sport and recreation facility has been designed to support community recreation, aquatic education, high-performance sport and major events.

Our Aquatics team provided specialist pool water engineering and construction monitoring services, helping deliver high-quality pool water treatment systems across the facility's 11 bodies of water. These include a 50m, 10-lane competition pool, a 5m-deep dive pool with dive tower and seating for more than 1,000 spectators, a range of leisure pools featuring interactive play structures and water toys, five hydroslides of varying size and speed, and a dedicated aquatic sensory space designed to support sensory development through water-based experiences.
