Set high above Akaroa Harbour, this architecturally designed family home was created to maximise views and strengthen the connection between indoor and outdoor living. Designed by Site Architecture, the four-bedroom residence includes a detached garage, expansive living spaces, and a striking cantilevered veranda overlooking the harbour.
A defining feature of the project is the series of exposed beams that extend from the veranda through the home's living spaces and continue to the pergola on the deck. We provided structural engineering services to support these key architectural elements, helping deliver a cohesive design that connects the home's interior and exterior environments while responding to the challenges of the hillside site.
