AQUATICS

KHP0535
We have a dedicated Aquatics team who live and breathe everything aquatics. Hundreds of pool projects underpin our team’s experience, from residential to Olympic facilities and everything in between. For an energy efficient aquatics facility which is easy to operate and maintain, seek our team’s specialist advice.

Our team utilises modelling software to complete energy analysis of aquatic facilities. This enables the team to assess heating and cooling, and analyse various options including the HVAC system, dehumidification strategies, pool temperatures, air temperatures and humidity levels – optimising systems for the facility and individual energy consumption.

Energy audits can be completed for several different reasons and aquatic facilities are unique in comparison to any other building type. Our team understands the major levers for energy consumption. We understand the complexities in the systems installed and produce energy audits with a high level of detail.

Even without existing submetering installed, the team can create models to replicate what is happening in the facility to enable in-depth analysis for either optimisation or future needs.

Aquatic facilities and pools are unique as the warm, chlorinated air can lead to increased maintenance and premature failure of building elements. Our team can assist clients and design teams around the materials used, how to protect them, the building envelope including analysing where condensation will likely occur, and where vapour barriers are best be installed in association with the ventilation system design.

A major part of an aquatic facility is the pool itself. We provide independent advice on the latest technology available for both the filtration and treatment system to ensure the pool water quality is held to the standard the client desires. Our focus is always on ensuring clients have a clear understanding of options, operational requirements and costs associated with the options available.

Heating is the most important part of an aquatic facility regarding not only the energy consumption, but also the wellbeing of occupants. The ventilation system is also incredibly important to the overall facility. Our team analyses the dehumidification process required for the local conditions, the heat recovery method used for optimised energy consumption, and the air distribution ensuring the best quality facility. There are many details of a ventilation system which are integral to the facility operation including humidity control, temperature control, and pressurisation, which we have specialist expertise in-house.

It’s not only new buildings we love. With aquatic facilities being highly corrosive environments, maintenance is key.

We can help establish the existing condition for the facility and strategise the site to be replaced effectively and efficiently at the end of its economic life – creating a long term plan for the facility. We utilise specialist aquatic software to estimate existing energy usage onsite and how to reduce the carbon emissions associated with the facility.
